What I offer
Skill Assessment:
During the assessment, I carefully evaluate the student’s mathematical understanding, identifying both their strengths and areas of difficulty. This helps me gauge the extent of the child's challenges as well as gain an understanding of how math anxiety may be affecting their learning.
After the assessment is completed and supporting evidence from parents and teachers is gathered, a detailed report will be created, including:
- A thorough analysis of the student’s results – highlighting common error types, misunderstandings, and a profile of their thinking patterns.
- A breakdown of secure and unsecure age-appropriate knowledge – detailing the child's strengths and areas that require further attention.
- An intervention plan with SMART goals – clear, measurable objectives that can be followed by tutors or maths aides as part of an intervention program. These goals are tailored to the child’s unique needs and will support their development in maths.
- Support for NCCD funding applications – the report can be used as documentation for schools to use in applying for Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) funding, potentially securing additional resources to assist the child.
As a maths educator with more than 20 years of experience, I am committed to providing actionable insights and strategies that can be directly applied to support students in overcoming their mathematical challenges.
I also have limited availability for specialist tutoring after an assessment.
